Dedicated Irish Horse TV Channel Set to Launch

Sounds a lot like that terrible horse channel they have on Sky just before the Sky Movies stations.

Irish Horse TV will be the first Irish station of its kind which combines flat and jump racing, excluding live racing, with the Olympic disciplines of show jumping, eventing and dressage as well as other equestrian pursuits. The station will be targeted at both a domestic and an international audience and will serve to reinforce Ireland’s image as the ‘Land of the Horse’.

Sounds garbage if you don't like horses maybe? I'll give it a chance anyway.

will be total garbage. look at the sponsors, the channel will be a happy cheerleader for horse sport, and that sort of channel goes down like a lead balloon in ireland, where viewers if ratings are to be believed love a bit of critical banter, such as we get with dunphy, spillane and hook in other sports.

Saw that crowd running around Punchestown on Saturday. There were 4 or 5 of them doing a job that looked like it could have been done by 2 people (girl with mic, guy with camera, and 2 or 3 other girls running around). They all seemed incredibly young. But I'll reserve judgement until I've given it a chance.....

I work for Irish Horse TV and in answer to your queries. The Punchestown crew were training crew who have not worked on Horse related events before, showing them the format etc. Most of our crew are young as Irish Horse TV use a lot of new technology and younger people adapt to it more quickly.
There will be lots of bun fights and banter as the editorial team want the real deal.
the whole industry have brought this station together because the coveerage out there is not good enough.

Probably right to be fair, just the sort of comment that gets you sued these days though!
