Issues with Pressure

    Hi All,

We are having high pressure issues with our Gas Bolier Vokera 20e.

I have located this unit (Attached) in the hot press but cannot find out how it should work.

Fully open Black side valve = immediate rise to 3 bar
Fully close Black side valve = very slow drop to 0 bar
Very slightly open Black = very slow build to 3 bar.

The red valve doesn't seem to do anything as fully, half or closed doesn't affect the above results.

Is it familiar to anyone - if I know what it is - then I can google the operation of it.

The system dropped to 0 last week of its own accord - when the black side valve was adjusted the pressure built to 3 bar.

The overflow pipe outside is also spewing out water - due to this high pressure.

I have tried to bleed the bathroom rad - to reduce the pressure - but 5 buckets later - no change.

    Any help appreciated.

That's the filler valve. When you turn it on, it fills up the system with water from the mains to the max pressure set on the valve (Your max pressure is probably set too high). When you turn it off, it stops. Your system must be leaking if it is losing pressure.

My system leaked a few weeks ago and I found the problem to be the release valve on the overflow pipe (€3).

If you don't feel competent with it, you should get a plumber in!

    cheers reilig.

should the red handle valve have any bearing on the operation of the filling valve
    ?

That valve should not be fitted onto your heating system , chances are it is masking a leak , when your system looses pressure due to a leak this automatically repressurises it , which means your heating system is rotting from the inside out , close the red valve the pressure on that gauge will remain at 3bar as this is the reading as far as the valve , reduce the pressure by venting a rad and get the pressure on your boiler gauge to 1.5bar , your safety valve is more than likely opening now and probably won't seal again causing pressure to drop to 0bar , you will need an rgi to replace this and fit a filling loop in place of the auto filling valve in your picture .

Just to be sure, when you say the overflow pipe, are you talking about the safety valve pipe that comes from your boiler or are you talking about the overflow that comes from your attic tank?
