From the Official Irish Farmers Journal Facebook page:
    http://www.facebook.com/IrishFarmersJournal
The death has taken place of Paddy O’Keeffe, chairman of the Agriculture Trust, publishers of the Irish Farmers Journal and The Irish Field. He was 89 and died peacefully at his home in Ballyhooley, Co Cork on Sunday 13 January 2013. As Editor, he presided over the growth in the circulation of the Irish Farmers Journal from 2,000 to 70,000 copies per week. He was also a driving force behind the establishment and growth of Farmer Business Developments (FBD), now the leading Irish owned insurance company.
Our sympathies to his wife Jane and children Margaret, Elizabeth, Josephine and Patrick. May he rest in peace.

I seen a very recent photo of him in the IFJ a week or so ago.

The man appears to have had a very long and healthy life. R.I.P.

I hope I'm as fit and healthy at that age ;)

RIP. I never realised he was that age. His mind was a sharp as ever, that's for sure anyway. He made a huge contribution to Irish farming.

RIP. never realised he was that age either. Just shows if you have a positive outlook it is obviously healthy.
