If I say life in prison...am I literally accepting that I will spend life in prison or just the sentence, meaning there is the possibility of escape or an appeals court overturning my conviction?

It's actually just called Life and is a rather funny comedy with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence.

I would definitely choose the green mile. I can't think of anything worse than life in captivity.

Life here is only around 24yrs of actual prison time so on that basis I choose life.

    life in prison
This may sound mad but here it goes.

From the various US tv shows on prison and prison documentaries from other countries around the world most/all appear to be hell on earth. If you're not in a gang you get raped, if you're in a gang you need to kill, both are a terrible way to spend the rest of your life whilst being locked up.

Where in comparison to say the Republican wing of a prison 30 years ago I think I could well handle it, apart from the beatings by prison guards, which can happen anywhere anyway, you are on a wing of the prison where you are all effectively in the same 'gang', I think the camaraderie and sense of solidarity would be immense, the sense of you're all in it together 'fighting for the cause', there'd be no race wars, rape ect. I'm not saying it would be any fun or craic but I think you would have a greater chance of remaining human through it.

So to answer the op, one option becomes more valid depending on circumstance.

    life in prison
If you mean natural life in prison I'd take a firing squad. ****ing hate needles and poison gas does nothing for my asthma. I'm also bad around electricty of any kind.

    What is the Green Mile?

An over-rated film based on a Stephen King novel - like The Shawshank Redemption.

    What is the Green Mile?

On Patricks day you walk a mile and have a pint in every pub you come across,it's a nightmare.

    What is the Green Mile?

    AKA Death Row

Lethal Injection, now that's the way to go, nice and civilised killing. As prisoners can be on the mile for a while (sometimes years), it'd give me time to come up with a most excellent "last words".

In an Irish prison? F*ck yeah. 3 free meals a day, all the time in the world to read books, paint, learn new skills, study for degrees in things, no bills to worry about, endless supply of top notch drugs, anus untouched by anto's, call joe anytime I want via the direct line ;) but most importantly I'll have you guys with me there on here in there :o

    life in prison
I'd choose the green mile- unless I was not guilty, then I'd sit pretty until they proved my innocence (ah my foolhardy faith in the legal system).

If I was guilty I'd take the death penalty.

It's another reason I don't really agree with it actually- it's way too easy an option to have for people who should be made live with the consequences of their actions.

Depends on the conditions: once your personal safety is guaranteed in the prison (and, tbh, I'd be suing the state if I so much as got a bloody nose from another prisoner, never mind a guard) and you have access to as much books as you can read, how bad could it actually be? Certainly better than ending it all anyway, especially given our revolving doors prison policies and the likelihood of a "life" sentence lasting under a decade.

Depends on the prison facilities, if theres an xbox, gym, live match days for soccer rugby ufc and American football along with daily sing alongs and live theater then id choose life.
