I have seen it before but I think I read someplace that there are only about 10 pilots trained to land there, thought it was a very small number. You could never get immune to the nerves flying into that death trap.

    ^^^^^^^^
10 people??? Wow! That would be some rush though, to fly that every day. The last turn is quite severe eh?

That is insane. Quality landing though!

Cant believe that is actually allowed.
I thought it was bad as he was taking a right hander in through a valley but then much tighter again approaching the runway with a very tight turn onto the runway. Crazy stuff

Mick, Id say it's only allowed in good weather like in the video. It would be suicide on a bad day with low vis. Especially in the Himalayas!

True, visual approach only and no nav aids

Indeed. Check it out on Google-Maps. Coming in from the other end is vice versa. Left turn then Right turn to line up with 33. It must be a busy spot if their allowing airliners to go in there!

There are loads of "spectacular" approaches around the world that are all part of the daily life of an airline pilot. Most require special training and approval by the local CAA. Innsbruck. Salzburg all have their quirks and Queenstown has an RNAV through the mountains which only approved operators can perform to lower minima.

Yeah, lots of sporty approaches out there, Salzburg circle to land and associated go around, dubrovenik cirle to land but this approach takes the biscuit. So many threats.....great video

I'd love to see the take off video as well.

After flying that the plane then calls the pilots a retard! :D

I don't understand why Airbus have to have RETARD in the computer telling the Pilot when to flare the nose. They do have eyes. Don't see Boeing adding a voice to their planes.. 30, 20, 10 TWAT!

Yes very good, I think it is in the top 3 most difficult strips to land on if not the top, i think you need 12000 flying hours before your are considered as being fit to land there,

and probably experience of flying many different types of aircraft.

formula one me hole, that is pure driving, (I know).
