    Hi,

I am currently doing the Hdip and I was thinking about leaving the country to teach abroad.

Can anyone tell me when I will be able to register with the teaching council? do I have to wait until my graduation or can I register once I get my results?

Teaching Council come around to the college talk you through it.

You will be given a packet of different forms to fill in.

One is the garda vetting form which you need to send off straight way.

There is one on your personal information and you get signed by a principal/vice principal.

Another is one to give the college permission to send on your results to the Teaching Council at the end of the year.

I was registered on the 18 July so if you have everything in on time you should get it handy enough.

Check out the new requirements for teachers in their first year after college. I think you have to attend certain training courses throughout the year - not doable from abroad?
