BMW Plastic cooling parts :(

    Hi,

Hopefully someone here can help. Lastweek I noticed a huge drop in the coolant level on my '99 318 E46 (M43 engine). By huge drop, I mean about 2L over the course of a 20mile drive. Luckily it was no big fault, the plastic coolant flange that connects the engine-block to the heater and intake manifold had ruptured and was an easy fix.

Problem is, to help with access to the 2 mounting bolts of the flange, I removed the angled flange that connects the engine-block to the upper radiator hose. During refitting, the flange's mounting plate broke away.

The part number I'm looking for is 11-53-1-743-329 (Image of part attached), does anyone know of anywhere around South Dublin that would stock one of these for immediate collection tomorrow (Monday)?

Also, found a degraded hose on the vacuum system, one of the hoses was so weak it broke when I was removing the upper intake manifold. Any ideas where I could get this hosing in a hurry?

    Thanks :)

Rathgar motor factors are great, they probably won't have it in stock but if you ring them before 11am they should have it in by 4pm.
I've been using them for the last 4 or 5 years and they have never let me down on e36 parts.

Thanks lads, I've submitted the request to otto.ie and I'll give Rathgar Motor Factors a shout in the morning. I should add, I got the first part from J&S in Dun Laoghaire (http://www.jsautopart.com/) who had the part in stock and a great price too, so I'll be trying them also for this part too.

    Hi,
It seems as tough Murphy & Gunn have one in stock for ~ €27 plus VAT. See the link here:

D2D Gateway lists stock from main dealers that are subscribed to their system. I believe that M&G are subscribed. Either way at least one BmW dealer in Dublin has one in stock.

Thanks Wicklowandy, I'll give them a call in the morning. Great to know they're there, handy if I have a catastrophic fk-up and need something within walking distance ;)

They're dead handy (and cheap) phils a sound man, they're the crowd that used to be opposite glenlucan, moved up where there are now about a year ago, used to buy a lot from them, always have good stock.

Got the part from German Auto Parts, thanks to Wicklowandy for the suggestion. Great service- ordered at 10am and collected the part at 14:30.

Good to hear it, no one seems to know about them, but they're around years

I forgot about them myself. I bought half my VW Beetle through the post from them back in the '90s.

No one knew where they were in the old place, and they have minimal signage on the new one too, but seem to be busy to trade and word of mouth customers, nice crowd to deal with.
