I'm ok for silage, and on the lookout for afew nice heifers myself to allow me to cull the troublemakers in the herd. Not too many up my way though, I don't really want the hassle of travelling/transport etc.

The exporters were sending incalf heifers to Russia before Christmas. They had to be PBR, they were offering 11-1200 for them.

The Russian Government are giving grants to increase cow numbers at the moment. €600 for every cow bought and €150/cow/year if she is put incalf. The Russian farmers are paying €2600-€3000 for the incalf heifers. Looks like the exporters want to make more money off the heifers than the farmers that reared them

And we should be surprised at that because?.... In my book, exporters are in the same level of humanity of that special life form that steal diesel.
