Hi, i really want to apply for this Media course in WCFE here: http://www.wcfe.ie/jcms/full-time-courses/41-computing/81-multimedia.html

It's an area i'm very interested in, i don't know how to apply and what costs are involved.

    Some info.
I'm 23 years old, North Tipperary, Haven't completed my leaving cert, actively looking for work right now. Do i have a chance?

Would Citizens Info be able to guide me in the right direction or are there resources online that can help me?

    For the night course; https://wcfe2013.enrol.ie/waterfordaejan2013/
    It looks like the day course enrolment has stopped;
On-line applications for enrolment for Full Time Courses starting September 2012 is now closed. This facility will be restored in early 2013 for next years intake.

Well, it says "Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent." so it seems that'll go against ye. Did you fail the LC, or drop out before it for some reason (a trade, etc)?

It says it costs €100 which is probably the registration fee.

    =-=

IMO, if you have worked in the area, it may show that you have an interest in it, but otherwise I wouldn't think so.

Thanks for your reply and for the links.

I think i just need to sit down with someone in the know and have a conversation about what my options are in regards to continuing education, any idea's? Citizens Advice, Fas, Community Welfare officer?

I would suggest that you contact WCFE as you would be deemed to be a mature student and most FE/PLC centres will have procedures and entry requiirements for mature and non-standard (ie no Leaving Cert) students.

Applications for September 2013 will be very soon, you should enquire at the college. At 23 you would be a mature student (strictly speaking it should be 23 on 1st January, but I'm not whether that applies) so your LC will not be relevant.

If you apply now you should be in the first round of interviews. If you have any evidence of any web/video/creative work of any description - don't get too hung up on quality, anything you might have done would be good -take it along.

The €100 is a round figure of what expenses you might incur in doing the course, its a high estimate, you would hardly spend that. There are other costs but some are covered by various schemes - you would have to enquire in the college.

Contact the college, call in if you are near, they will give you what information you need.

I wanted to apply last year but i was 22 at the beginning of the year so i waited until this year

I am a Youtube partner so i make video's for them, Hopefully this would count.

If you're a youtube partner, talk about the programs you use to edit your videos, such as if you use sony vegas and how you want to develop these skills.
