A house in Portugal

Hi,

Thinking about renting a house to sleep about 8 this July in Portugal for some sun and surf. We're not looking for anything crazy but a few restaurants, bars and shops would be ideal. Anywhere on the west coast would be fine, I imagine the surf in the algarve is not great.

Anyway, I've no idea where to look for a house, have done some googling but have nothing to gauge the houses on and some sites look dodge.

Has anyone done anything like this before or have any recommendations.

Try Ericeira - it's about an hour's drive north of Lisbon. Surfing is very popular there and there are a number of surf schools. The town is very pretty and there are loads of good places to eat - especially if you like seafood. More info here - http://www.ericeira.net/ . Buses to and from Lisbon (Campo Grande station) are frequent.
