I want to buy a laptop for my daughter who wants to study animation next year, but don't know what sort of spec to look for. Can anyone help?

If it's heavy animation you'll want an Ivy bridge i5 or i7 cpu, at least 8Gb ram and a good Nvidia GPU rather than AMD who are better equipped for gaming, where Nvidia are better suited to video editing and graphic design.

Will cost you but if you want it for doing proper editing this is where you're at.
