I have bought a good few big Lego sets over the last year but for 2013 decided to buy loads of bricks. Where do you get your ideas for your own designs? Any good websites?

It really depends on what you building. Space? castle? technic? City? cars?

A lot of people look for idea on internet. Games, movies, real life building/machinery.
If you want to be surrounded by other people who give ideas in LEGO, then your best bet are:

eurobricks forum. they have subforums for each category. Very busy and life forum, very mature community too.

Flickr Lego. Its basicly people posting their creation there. discussion is active and you can get few ideas there too.

    try

    www.rebrickable.com

Allows you to upload what sets and parts you have and then tells you what you need to build any set or moc in the database, very handy and lots of moc instructions ect.

Can also link it with www.brickset.com and share sets and build lists of what you have and want ect.
