And freeze the veg mix too as they can be used from frozen for soups etc

    Scrap that !!

I was thinking that these were prepared veg that could be thrown into the freezer for some reason.

Still I suppose one can still make up soup with them and still freeze it then.

Ive given up on dunnes fruit no matter how cheap! its very hit and miss. apples in dunnes always rotten inside and after 1 day in fridge I had 2 packs of blueberries all furry after spending €5 on them
    best fruit is supervalue's!

I find the same. Never shop for fresh fruit or veg in Dunnes. They're always on the verge of extinction, bruised and battered. I find Superquinn or Lidl to be much better, fresh wise but must check out Supervalu this week too.

Apologies for extra post but OP is now locked.

The Lidl offers this week, ending 20th January, are

    Red Grapes - 1Kg, for €1.99
    Kiwi - 6 pack, for 69c
    Parsnips - 500g, for 39c
    Celery - Bunch, for 49c

Re the grapes, they are quite big but I could find no indication on the packaging to say if they were seeded or seedless. Also, the Kiwis are ripen at home so prob best to leave them a week or so before eating.
