Changing electives continuous assessment v final exam modules

I am contemplating changing a module to a continuous assessment one instead of an elective examined solely during the summer final exam.

However would continuous assessment modules be easier to gradually loose marks and get a lower grade in ?
In particular a third of the elective would be based on group project work, thus would achieving a high grade be based on 'luck' of getting paired with others.

Would it be advisable to choose electives that may be easy as opposed to useful and relevant to course ?

If the question you are asking is whether a module without a final exam is easier than one with one, then no, that is nonsense. Each can be equally as hard.

And, as for your last question, it depends. The majority of students I think do choose electives that they think will be easy. However, you should also remember that your time in college is a short one, and you will probably never have this opportunity to learn such a diverse range of subjects. So basically, it's your call.

For me I don't like exams.
    can i ask?
I did change my electives but when I check my sis web I find this:"Unassigned * Additional: 10". and in red :" Registration Incomplete:10"
although I can see them in my timetable.
    Is there any problem?

My question is actually the reverse, ie: whether it may be more difficult to take a module examined solely on continuous assessment in that marks may be lost more gradually.

And, as for your last question, it depends. The majority of students I think do choose electives that they think will be easy.

Neither elective is easy however one is in an area that I would find 'easier'...
however tutorials are based online has anyone had experience with this ?

    thanks for your response!

I incurred a similar error in the first semester, contact the module coordinator any they will sort it out.

    Completely depends on the module.

You can state the name of the module here, it's ok. I am sure there are people here who have done it who can tell you what it's like.

in my experience continuous assessment modules are easier to do relatively well in (i.e a C or a low B) but if you want an A you're far better off picking a module with a hefty final exam worth the majority of the marks and just studying properly for it.

Completely depends on yourself OP. I've found for me, it has varied with the subject.

I've had some subjects with essays and final exams and found that whilst I put a lot of time and effort into the essays, they were quite hardly marked, so I might get a B or something, but then the course content isn't massive, so with out killing myself with study, I can do much better on the exam, where expectations don't seem to be so high for every single tiny detail.

I've also had subjects where essays were a complete joke and I would get A's on them and then the exam would be a little tricky.

It depends on which you prefer to do and also how much course content there is and how that lecturer marks. It's tough to say one is absolutely better than the other, as often it doesn't even come down to the individuals preference, but how hard / easy a particular module is marked.

EDIT - As above though, for maximum marks, I think it's easier to score higher in an exam where you know your stuff than to spend hours on an essay and potentially miss the point or an aspect and get a B or a C or something. In terms of time commitment, if you spent the same amount of time studying as you did doing a sh*t load of continous assessment, you'd do pretty well in any exam also.
