Dress for a Thailand Wedding

Hi all!

I'm a guest at a wedding in Thailand this summer, and am at a loss as to what to wear. The weather will be quite humid with temperatures between 25 and 30 ish, so I guess something light would be best? If anyone had any dress/outfit suggestions they'd be much appreciated!

A light Maxi dress would be ideal - it'll keep you cool, you could spice it up a bit with accessories and coming into the summer most shops will have them.

OP again. Thanks for that lorebringer. I've got a few maxis but I wanted to wear a shorter dress for the actual wedding - maxis for all the other celebrations!

Would something like this be suitable or is it too casual? I dont really know how formal it's all going to be.

I think its a lovely dress.

I would pay attention to materials and try to find something made of natural fabrics. It makes huge difference in humid weather (and it will be very humid). Silk would be best. It's a bit hit and miss on high street but Zara, warehouse, Monsoon could have something. I'm pretty sure Oasis have nice cotton dresses.

If I were you, and you had a few days before the wedding to spare, Id get it made out there; huge array of fabrics, just have a few photos of styles you like and you will find plenty of tailors/dressmakers that would knock it up in 24hours...

Done this exact thing in Jan for a wedding unfortunately i was told it would be a wk before they would have it made
So just be aware and maybe bring a dress incase...

It's oasis, I think I might get it anyway even if I don't wear it for the wedding! I only have two days before the wedding so I wouldn't be able to get it over there. I'll bear in mind about the natural fibres though, thanks everyone!

Be careful about the fabric you choose. I'm not sure but cotton might be best.

If it's on a beach flats might be best but might influence you dress choice. Also don't spend too much as the dress may be ruined with sun block.
