Hello,

I have a SilverCrest SL 45 HDMI digital satellite receiver bought in Lidl about 6 years ago. I use it to receive channels on Astra 19.2°. Lately I’ve noticed I cannot rescan for rearranged and new channels. The “progress metre” goes to about 70% but then stops, saying “no signal”. The remote control now becomes useless, the receiver won’t manually turn off, and I must disconnect it from the mains. When I reconnect the channel list is as was before.

Any suggestions on how can I retune for new channels to 100%?

It's a known issue that scanning some of the 19 east frequencies will crash these receivers.

I recall reading about a software fix, supposedly can be found on the Comag website. I have one of these boxes myself & it has crashed while manually scanning certain tps (e.g. 12662 H). I've never done an auto scan, or bothered about software updates. There's a list of everything on 19 east here & the home page has a 'most recent updates' section, for all satellites.

Sorry for the delay Peter, I was away for a couple of days.

Your information is helpful. Seemingly I’m going to need a “Null Serial Cable” to download the updated software. I must get this first and let you know how I get on.
