    Using the Text and Tests supplement book and just having difficulty with one question.

    Page 26-Q6
    To convert 20kg to pounds using the equation found (11x-5y=0)
    According to question Kg on y axis so therefore y value in equation?
    so subbing in 20 for y gives
    11x- 5(20)=0
    x=9.09 lb, which is not correct?

    All help much appreciated.

    Well, to convert KG into lb, I just multiply by 2,2.

    But for that method:
    11x - 5y = 0
    11(20) - 5y = 0
    220 - 5y = 0
    5y = 220
    y = 220/5
    y = 44
