I would just like to know if emergency house calls are covered by a GP Visit Card.

It's the weekend and obviously the my doctor which I chose for my card is not the 'on call' doctor.

Can anyone advise, I can't find anything relating to this.

    Thanks

Is your GP part of one of the out of hours services. WestDoc/SouthDoc etc

Yes he is. Does that mean if he is called to the house then it will be free?

No, your GP visit card only covers you for visits you make to your Gp surgery during normal hours. If you get the out of hours doc you will be paying the full fee.

I am not sure about some of the replies. If I was you I would just ring and ask them outright. They will tell you.

If you attend south doc/west doc etc and are the holder of a medical card you do not pay their fees.

Not correct. At least for WestDoc.
