    Hi.

Are Prosthodontist's trained to place dental implants?
Or should i visit a Periodontist for the implant surgery phase?

The Prosthodontist will be restoring the implants (porcelain bridge)
Would it be better if he also places the implants himself?

    Thank you~

Its doesn't matter who places the implants so long as they are good at it and put it in the correct position and angle. I know some prosthodontists who place their own implants but personally I don't as its a specialty all on its own, and as a specialist I appreciate that the best results come form having various specialties doing the jobs they are best trained for, not trying to do everything yourself.

I do thinks that a prosthodontist is the best first port of call as they work from the final result backwards and are the person that give you the end result (replacement teeth). These cases are won or lost on planning, and having the person responsible for the final phase do the planing means that excuses for sub optimal results are minimized.
