My girlfriend is thinking of buying a Yaris up north.
Does anyone know Are they a good or bad place to buy off?
Would they do the paperwork to change it to Irish plates (vrt)?

Are they any other dealers that are good to deal with?

If you google them you will find mixed reviews, which is inevitable with such a large dealer. I know 2 people who have purchased from them with no issues. They won't put Irish plates or VRT it for you, that is up to you when you bring it in.

I bought a used car from Charles Hurst Vauxhall in Belfast a couple of years ago. No problems whatsoever, they will accept an Irish registered car for part-ex, although as has already been said you will have to sort out the registration and VRT for the new car yourself.

I have dealt with a Ford dealer up there as well (Lindsay Ford) and found them OK too.

In general is it still worth buying in UK given the currency issue? I bought a car in England in 2009 when the euro was at 95 - 96 cent to the £, whereas it is now down at something like high 70 - low 80 cents to the £. It was certaintly worthwhile in 2009 just wondering if it is still the case?

Are you sure they are not operating with a dealer down here too as Ive seen them advertise uk cars with vrt inclusive prices and seeing as they will take an Irish car as a trade, they must be fairly well connected to the trade down here to get rid of them (Unless they are giving woeful trade in price).

Charles Hurst operate the Audi Centre in Ballsbridge, so do have an outlet in ROI. Whether there is communication between the dealerships to organise VRT etc. is a different matter.

Try ring toyota dealer in Enniskillen. Even if they don't have the one you're looking for, they may be able to source it from UK and will not rip you off. ;)

And yes, they'll do VRT and give you a car on Irish plates. :)
