The various Netflix have the majority of them, 6.99 a month.

i wanna watch them on a dvd player - i don't wanna watch them on a laptop and i cannot hook my laptop up to the tv - tv is too old… i would need a whole bunch of leads - one for sound and one for audio and i can't be bothered with all that

I'm not aware of any mail rental services that specialise in indie/foreign films or even has a semi-decent selection of them. This is the reason why I never subscribed to any of them for more than a few months. It's all mainstream crap that you can get anywhere.

Your choices are limited. If you are in Dublin check out Laser on George’s st - it has a fantastic selection of indie/arthouse films. Otherwise get a new television and a media player that support Netflix. I'd actually recommend an Apple TV as then you would also have access to the iTunes Store. Both services have a decent enough selection of most kinds of films, but there's really no one stop shop online service for indie films. We have Mubi over here but it's very lacking in terms of content.

But you would be bothered to try find a service that does this? and pay them by Credit card i assume ?

Just buy the cable and stream them from laptop to PC, its your bets option tbh.

Try Screenclick. Selection may have improved since I last used it.

Where's "over here"? Mubi is on my PS3 here in Ireland, never really looked at it though, not too sure what's on there

Mubi is alright but not worth subscribing to long-term. There's just not enough films.

Fandor in the US looks really good but no sign of it expanding to other countries. And it's only available on a limited number of devices at the moment. DRM and licensing restrictions makes it so difficult for these online services to get going.

I've an xtravision-direct online account and they have Biutiful and The Skin I Live In available so maybe your local shop could get a hold of them for you.

Not everyone's laptop can be hooked up to a TV. I'm still working with one that can't do it.

Something like apple tv costs a 100 or Roku only 70 which allow you to wirelessly watch the likes of Netflix on TV, its so much more enjoyable than on a laptop or computer.

I copy stuff on to a USB stick and stick it into my Xbox. I'm so old skool!

Well with Xbox you can stream Netflix and Mubi etc to your TV anyway, thought you just meant you had a laptop.

i do not think its worth the effort with the two cables - with having audio separate..

how does this work? if you have xtra vision direct online you can ask them to order in something for you?

No, you pay a certain amount per month and get dvds sent to you. But if they have it available to order online [warehouse is in Tallaght], they might be able to order it into the shop for you to rent as normal.
