Too many projects........

    ...ok, long story short:

I have a 1976 Yamaha DT175 Enduro, which I've owned for over 20 years. I bought when I was living in UK, and brought it home in the 90's and cleared it then.

It got use for a while, then less use, than a vintage rally spin or two.... and eventually, retired to back of garage as a 'project'........and then last year I decided to do something about it.

But, work and time, overtook me and I started stripping, but stopped after taking off the seat and a few basic bits, and I'm now resigned to the fact I don't have the time to do it.

The bike is a 1G1 model, twin-shock, 4-stud barrel. The tank is not original, but the rest of it is - it has only done 8363 miles from new. Bike was running until I started to strip it, so mechanical work if any is little, and most of the work is cosmetic.

So, finger-in-the-air-time - anyone care to put a value on it ?? I have no expectations, but have decided to restore another yoke in the garage instead , and pay someone to do that, and to put the funds into that, instead, so just looking to make one contribute to the other.

I have the bike, keys, all the bits (non-std tank), Haynes manual, Factory Parts book and microfiche as well !!

This is what it's SUPPOSED to look like !! :D

    Mine, currently, this far !!

I'd guess it would be worth less than a grand? €800 or so if it's stripped all there and could run but scruffy/ easy Winter project? Would it be worth €1600+ restored?

Yeah, well I rang that resto crowd as one option was to get them to do it for me, and just keep the thing. In this day'n'age the only thing that holds it's value is a classic of some sort anyway. They told me restored it'd be worth about GBP£ 1700 - £2000 depending on the level/quality you do it to.

I love your optimism about the 800 though !!

You'd have to be a true enthusiast to pay that sort of money for a bike like that (no offense)....i'd say you could do a resto job to excellent standard for well under a grand....
