How to root the ainol novo crystal 7?

I have the files from a website, saved onto my micro sd.

I can get to the menu to wipe/restore factory settings, and install the new OS. But when I reboot it begins the start up sequence, asks if i use gmail, then loads for a few minutes before going black and/or freezing.

Have I installed the files in the wrong order/loaction? or is there something else wrong?

Well, im not just after a root.
Yesterday it developed some problem which would make the screen freeze or go blank, so it was suggested it was the rom was corrupted, rooting may fix it.
Now Ive installed some other rom and when i load it up it still freezes, but during the registration process.
