    Hi All

I have a Nikon D3000 which I use a lot. But sometimes for social events or with the kids I'd like a simple small point & shoot digital camera.

I'm looking for any recommendations for a camera which others have used which would do the trick.

    Thanks.

I carry a Panasonic DMC-ZS3 (also known as a TZ7) with me most of the time. Enough megapixels, 25mm wide angle, HD video and 12x optical zoom. Mrs aidanic has an older TZ5.

    DP Review

Optical zoom was the key requirement here. It takes SD card, and I have two batteries for it. Can record a solid 90 minutes on a full charge.

I'd pick up a secondhand Panasonic LX5 if you can or buy it new if you have people in the States.

Other option might be a XF1

P832A4V3T8MES will give you 10% off too :D

Great camera, I had the TZ10 before. Fantastic quality for a P&S

TZ7 was out in 2009. The TZ25 and TZ30 are now available.

Check out this link for more info.

Would the cameras recommended be good for photographing concerts? I bought a smart phone because it had a 12mp camera in it (sony xperia s). This takes brutal photos especially of any concerts I've attended.(although its not too bad for outside daytime ones).

I was having a look at this Lumix ZS5 for €105 inc delivery.
Any thoughts, good bad or indifferent?
