If not, try Ness appliances in the north.

Hi. Thinking of buying a kuppersbusch. Did you have any luck getting yours repaired? Bit worried about warranty and servicing

Sorry to drag an old thread.

I have "inherited" a Kuppersbusch KD 6375.0GE - 82. I don't even know if it's an extraction or re-circulation hood. Does anyone have this model and could shed some light please?

The problem is that the whole thing blew when I turned it on recently. Any idea what it may be and how to actually take any fuses or boards out?

A manual in English would be great too.

This is most likely the little PCB on the front of the hood (where you control speeds). I used to work on these a few years back and they are easily replaced. The best place to get the board is from Partmaster.co.uk.

Thanks, Dashano. Do you mean the part you referred to before?

At approx. €140 and the risk of being something else, I wonder if it wouldn't be worth getting a new hood... Would it be easy to remove and check if indeed it is that board?

It should be easy to remove the board and it will be obvious if it is blown. The circuit will most likely have some burn marks on it. Some precautions will need to be take when removing it. Make sure power is off etc.

Would it be the part at the back that I unplugged on both sides in the photo below?

Also if there is a carbon filter, where would it be placed or how would I access it?

Can't see the photo for some reason. Are you sure there is a carbon filter? If there is, it may be at the outlet of the motor behind the stainless steel chimney or at the inlet to the motor(visible when the grease filters are removed).

I've attached the photo. The piece I was asking about had two plugs connected to it, one on each side. The one to the left looks like the power one, the other more like an electronics connector (white with clips I had to press to release it).

Regarding the carbon filter, I'm not sure there is one. I know nothing about this hood. That's why I was asking... :D To see if I had to change it. I'll try and see if I can find one.

Is this the PCB and if so, does it look like it's blown? It doesn't to me, but I know nothing about these things...

It looks like it is blown alright. The back of the board looks bad. That part should be available to get on partmaster

Which proves my last point! haha

    Thanks, Dashano.

Sorry, Dashano, how does it look like it's blown? What are the tell signs?

Parts of the circuit look black and burned out. It's the most likely fault with the hood.

That's what I thought, but I cannot see any black. I think that was the way I took that photo. Here's a different one.

I don't see any burn marks or blown tracks, what I do see is an inconsistency i the silk screening that makes parts of the board tracks look a different colour as it stopped solder from sticking to the copper track.

So I brought the pcb to a repair shop and it turns out there's nothing wrong with it. They tell me it could be the fuse. If only I knew where it was. There's nothing on the walls near the hood or over the kitchen presses. Could the plug and fuse be inside the metal chimney? How do you remove it? There's a plain white switch on the wall next to the cooker's red switch which I don't know what it does...

In the end it was the fuse! With youtube's help I managed to remove the metal chimney, found the plug, changed the 3 amp fuse and voila! Good bit of money that I've saved plus the feeling of achievement. :p

    Thanks all for the tips.
