I Failed the nct on my Passat. the issue is that the front right anti-roll bar bushing and link is loose. The tester told me that it might be better off replacing the bushing instead of tigheting I was wondering if I do replace it should replace the link also. Need to price around, and want to know what the best option is. Probably could get away with tightening them for the re-test but may aswell get it sorted now

Yeah you should do both bushes and links.

Both are very cheap. I had the same issue with my Passat and bought them from Micksgarage.

I did the job myself which was quite tricky (getting the bloody bushes off) but its easily done if you give it a bash. Plenty of youtube videos to help!

    Without knowing the year....

Its just the anti roll bar link and sway bar bushing yeah?

Rough guess is a parts total cost of less than 30e... + half hour labour??

    *edit*

    covered by John :)

    Thought id share this.

Got a few quotes today, to replace both links and bushings. 3 quotes came in around 80-100 for parts+labour except one national car repair centre who quoted me 240! I obviously thought he didn’t pick me up correctly but yep, I repeated what needed done and 240 was price....they were top quality links apparently

When replacing bushes, links etc make sure you use genuine VW ones. The spurious ones won't last p1ssing time!
