First Time poster RC Model planes ?

Hey guys i have been on this forum for a long time now just looking and it has really given me the courage to attempt to make my first RC plane. Just wondering is there any set that would be ideal for me to start with?:D..I no its going to be tough so i was just wondering is there any clubs in the Offaly area that build these planes or could just could give me a general hand with it if i get stuck:D. At this stage would you like to get flying first (i.e. start off with a pre-built or nearly pre-built plane) or would you like to build your first plane?

The proliferation of lightweight foam models in recent years has meant that a lot of people are getting started this way successfully on their own. Getting a plane that is mostly built before you start helps reduce the risk of technical failure.

A lot of people find building planes as enjoyable as flying them, if you'd like to build your first plane, you definitely need to be looking at going the club route.

Either way, I'd strongly suggest getting a start with a simulator, you can get the software free:

along with a cheap usb controller like:

this will go along way to getting you used to model controls and orientation.
