Boosting Airport Extreme wifi with Belkin router?

I have an Airport Extreme that's not quite reaching one part of my house, and it's in the best area possible. I cant afford an Airport Express right now, so I was wondering if anyone has boosted Airport Extreme WiFi with a different brand of router? Apple hardly has their routers locked down that much?

Any help would be great, I'm not the biggest network buff!!

AFAIK only apple products can extend other apple products.

you can buy a range extender that will work with any router, TP-LINK or Belkin are good brands

    something like this

    http://www.harveynorman.ie/tp-link-300mbps-wireless-n-range-extender.html

you tell it your current wifi name & password and it ill extend it. you'll need to place the range extender about half way between the router and where your wifi signal drops off for best results

how about an airport express from adverts.ie? That would enable you to move around the house without having to connect to different wifi networks.

That's the way all range extenders work when you put in the same wifi name & password as your original router.
