Driving licence renewal

My driving license is due to expire in a couple of weeks and I've been putting renewing it on the long finger. Is there a time limit that I have to renew it before it expires permanently.

Yeah I thinks it's that too.

Although, if your licence expires, technically you would be driving without a valid licence, but I think that's only a minor offence in the case of an expired licence.

Its been a little over 3 weeks since I applied for my new license, haven't heard a thing back yet. Anybody in similar situation?

I think the new credit card ones are out soon aren't they? But they're 3 times the price or something.
