Splitting time between skiing and boarding

    Hi all,
    Heading to Mayerhofen on the 26th, I normally ski but I'm interested in doing a bit of boarding on this holiday. I've done 2 snowboard taster sessions but was thinking of doing a full snowboard holiday this time around - however I'd also like to do a bit of skiing.

    So as I'll be hiring my gear, whats the best / cheapest way get the best of both worlds? I'm thinking of:
    Hiring the board & boots.
    3 day boarding school.
    Return them on day 4.
    Hire ski's and boots, for day 5 & 6.

    Cheers for the input.

    Quite a lot of rental places will do swaps for nothing afaik, or a nominal fee.

    I must look into that, thanks olaola, we usually rent our ski stuff with DirectSki but maybe I'll talk to them in the shop about this.

    Personally, I would steer clear of the packages offered by the agents. Best to go straight to the shop yourself. I'd check out Intersport & Skiset (use code 'FACEBOOK' for extra discount) for pre-booking. Just checked, Skiset have premium skis for under €100.

    DEfinitely do the swap thing - i jsut got stung by booking board for 2 days and skis for 3 and then just using board for 3 days and skis for two. much more flexible to swap on the fly. Book the board as its usually cheaper :)

    Hail 2 Da Chimp;
    For rental go straight to Luigis or Ski centre Hubert Kroll in Mayrhofen, and explain what you want and they will look after you.

    Check out Definition Snowboarding its run by one of Britan's top Boarders, and he has a seriously good crew.

    Thanks for all the replies!

    Fattes, just looking at Definition's website - looks like a great setup. The snowboarding would be lost on me but it might be an idea to try out the skiing freestyle course!
