Iphone 5 mail

    I can currently access my e-mails via mail but when I try to send one it wont let me send mail. My e-mail server is eircom. What am i doing wrong this happens on the i-pad too

    Could be outage on Eircom . Check the Eircom forum . Similiar think reported before http://touch.boards.ie/thread/2056822757?page=2

    Thanks but the email is working, just i cant send e-mails on ipad or iphone but can receive them.

    I would guess its your outgoing smtp server settings, google what they should be for your provider and change them in email settings.

    That to me suggests your email is not working .
    A diff port is used when receiving and sending emails . If u have not changed any thing or edited settings then normally it's outage at ISP end .

    I googled and found this . Check it for your iPods http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3899 then contact Eircom . They are. Est placed to tell u if there is an outage or not .

    Try sending an email with wifi and one without.
