Push each key in until it clicks/locks, if its not budging try and get two wooden spoons or something similar from your kitchen and slide one each down through the two rings on each side so you have two handles to hold as you pull.

The main thing you want to do is pull on each key equally and level, the radio slides out easiest that way. If this isn't an option, then try pulling on the bottom two first, then the top ones.

tried with the spoons as you were writing that. ha. unfortunately still no luck..the thing is well in there! think anyone could do it for me?

Did you try maybe pushing it first before pulling it?

I know that sounds counter productive, but it might just be snagged on an edge or something and there usually give behind them, so it might just release it for you.

    Where are you based?

have had similar problems in the past, if you pull or put pressure the keys handles inwards so as to push the ends to the outside which usually releases the latches. Are both sides not budging or is there a bit of give in one?

You have to push the keys outwards each side and pull to release the radio

Sounds to me like the pins are not inserted right, take them back out and insert each one again making sure they locate correctly and lock in place and try again.

ill try your ideas tomorrow thanks. as for that video, i dont think its very informative. a demonstration would have been nice

they definitely seem to be locking in to place. just pulling very hard and nothing is happening. you think a garage could do it for me?

these can be a disaster, when you have the pins inserted get someone else in the passanger seat and each take a side you need to and pull them to the side and out if that makes sence, if that fails have them locked into place and get a slim flat screw driver and prise it out

like was said already push them in till they click push them apart outwards slighty and pull. possibily try to get one side out slightly first

For what reason are you removing the radio

most important thing is that you should push the keys outwards, as in towards the doors.

Try one side first, top and bottom. Push the keys out, the should spring back, when theyre pushed out to the doors, the radio should be able to slide out a bit. Repeat on the other side.

If the keys wont move at all, left right or out, then you most likely have the qrong keys. I can't see 4 keys all being put in wrong or haveing 4 broken mechanisms.

If they were the wrong keys, they're could be a slight lip on them designed to pull out a different radio which will get caught in yours.

I've taken out numerous radios, including loads of these. I've done these with the right and wrong keys numerous times (wrong keys in situations like yours when they were stuck). With the right keys they are the easiest radio to get out. With the wrong ones, it can get as bad as a small bit of damage to the surround.

Trying to attach a cable for the ipod. im gonna give up at this stage. the keys aren't even grabbing at this stage. Tried nearly prying the radio out with screwdrivers but im doing damage at this stage. no idea now..key should have the straight side facing the door yes?

Can you remove a pocket above or below the radio to reach in and push it out? I've had to do that a few times
