Outfit for a 1st Date

Ladies
I'm off out with a lad I have fancied for ages this Saturday. It's nothing too formal, just a few drinks down the local pub.

What should I wear? Dress? Skirt? Jeans?

Want to impress but dont want to look like I have made too much effort

It depends on what looks best on you. If you have great legs, wear a simple dress. If you don't go over the top with accessories, then it's casual. Little cardigans always help to soften a look as well. Same thing goes for the skirt. It's all in the accessories and shoes.

If your legs are not your best feature, I would go with the jeans and a nice top because jeans are for the most part, a casual outfit. But. And this is a big BUT, if you're bottom heavy forget about the jeans and do the dress or skirt deal.

I would actually go with the first two either way. You can wear tights if your legs are not your best feature.

I normally wear skinnys and a nice top for a first date. But I usually wear a dress of a Sat night out. Not sure why. Maybe I don't want to look too keen to impress! Still really.

What would you normally wear if you were just meeting friends?

I agree with Mood....skinny jeans, dressy top & and a nice blazer for a pub date, not too over the top and not too casual. Make sure you feel comfortable in what you choose to wear.

If it were me, and the date was only in a pub, then I'd wear skinny jeans, high heels, nice top with a blazer over it, nice top. Dressy but not too dressy. Simple hair and nice makeup.

I also have a date Sat, not a first but early enough days so still putting a bit of thought into outfits All our other nights out were over Christmas & everyone was really dressy so this is kind of the first casual night out.

Anyways I'm rambling but my outfit consists of the JD top on the link below, I'm wearing skinny leatherette trousers and a nice black blazer with it. Will prob keep the jewellery to just a bangle or something.

Like the idea of leather trousers but no way confident enough to wear them.

Very self conscious bout the legs :-( Though dont think hey are that bad.

Like my skinny jeans but.........showing too much bum??????

Not at all.

I'm in the less(on show) is more camp but no way is a pair of jeans showing too much bum. Once you don't have a lot of boob on show you'll be grand. Something like a nice blouse tucked into skinny jeans would be nice
