    nah, there's nowhere in Athlone that caters for rock climbing

    If you're looking for climbing as a day out/group type activity try the above 'day out' link. Don't know of any adventure providers in Athlone.

    Folks, trying to revive this topic.

    Do we have an update here? Maybe we can create a group of interested people and a local gym could buy the idea to get more membership.

    Athlone? Flat as a pancake. Ballykeefe Quarry in Kilkenny, would that be nearest?

    There is one in Galway, which is very close to the motorway. The Galway Climbing Coop.
    Still, the investment is not that high to have something local. If we have let's say 10 ppl interested we should be able to go to a Gym and talk to them.
