    Hiya Folks.
Had a bit of a FUBAR moment while trying to flash CM10 to my LG P920 :(
And I'm hoping that someone here can help me out?

I've used the XDA Resurrection guide and I can get my phone into the Software Download mode and the OMAP drivers are recognized and installed i.e steps 1 thru to 11.
My problem however is that the phone is not getting or showing a COM port in device manager so I am unable to proceed with reflashing the V21e recovery firmware.
Anyone out there got any experience with this?
And if I can't get my Laptop to recognise the correct COM port, does anyone know of a service where I can send the phone to to get sorted?

I had a similar issue with an LGGT540 a few years back, thought it was bricked but sorted it in the end, was only a driver issue but if you can get into download mode that at least is something, I doubt its has to be sent anywhere yet, so dont panic... :) what os are you running and have you tried to reinstall the stock os through the adb?

There's a user on here called partyatmygaff who comes highly rated. Might be worth contacting him?

As I can get into Download mode via fastboot.bat and the drivers for the OMAP 4430 are being picked up, It has me stumped!
But given the fact the phone is going into download mode and not throwing up an active COM port(Or at least if it is my laptop isn't detecting it)I think thats well what it may be.
Haven't actually tried ADB, as I don't have much experience with that...Yet ;) ! Haha.
System is running windows 7 ultimate.

Another thing worth mentoning, when I had the issue, it was as I was using a vista laptop, I went down and did it on my mams clunky old xp desktop and it worked just fine.... :)

    Google yielded this :

Thanks for the link, unfortunately that is the method I'm currently using (linked in the O.P to the xda guide, seame method) and having the issue with.
I'm still banging away with it at the moment and failing out the same step.

Running Windows 7 SP3, and same result running on XP virtual machine.
I'm at a total loss as to why this is stalling out where it is
I'm back to using my auld HTC desire in the meantime til I hopefully get this sorted.

I'm still getting nowhere with this and at this stage I feel like dancing on the bloody phone! haha
I have gotten a step further in the process, which is progress I suppose.
From the XDA resurrection guide(linked in OP) I am no able to get a COM port assigned to the phone(although Device Manager lists this as COM4 and the guide calls for COM41)
So to summarise, Drivers are installed, OMAPboot will detect the phone and force it to boot into Software Download mode and the phone is assigned COM4 in the device manager.

I am however still unable to actually get the phone recognised in LGFLASHtool 1.1(Even though the COM port is assigned)
So I am still lumbered with a brick at the moment.
    Any ideas folks?

This is beginning to sound very like the day I tried to flash CM on my wife's Optimus Black. That saga ended in a motherboard replacement but I had to keep hacking at it until it wouldn't switch on at all so LG wouldn't ask any questions about how it happened. They make lovely phones but when they go wrong...

Just to close this out in case anyone else runs into a similar problem.
After running through the XDA Resurrection guide with no success, I finally managed to get up and running again using LGs own software and the Software Download mode on the phone.
I used the LG support tool and managed to blind flash an official V21a Firmware back to the phone and get back up and running.
Now back to figuring out how to get CM10 running ;) haha
