Hi need help getting a priest for my wedding in Galway in September. I have church booked (not my parish church). The priest there won't marry me, I contacted my parish priest and he wont commit saying he wont know till closer to the date if he will be available to be honest think he is put out that im not getting married in the parish church. Does anyone know a sound approachable priest in Galway who would be willing to marry a couple outside of his parish.

Fr Charlie McDonnell is a gent. From bushy park I think. Give him a shout if you can! Says a lovely mass :)

Have you also booked a church outside your own parish but don't know any priests? Could you cancel the church and have a civil ceremony instead?

He's from Castlebar if it's the man I'm thinking of. Current priest in Westport.
