Lidl and HUGE Weight Watcher discounts!

I was in Lidl today (Skibbereen, Cork) and saw they have a HUGE sale on weight watchers foods. Especially the Chocolate Brownie desserts. These usually retail at €3.99 but in Lidl they were going for only €1.49! There were all the other ready meals on sale as well.

I bought 12 boxes for €18 and that would usually retail at €48 so huge savings.

Iceland and Dealz also do good value WW foods all year round, much cheaper than in the main stores.

I sadly live to far away from Iceland, I am actually on the furthest southerly point of Ireland lol.

Are they not just the same as normal tv dinner type meals except smaller? Had them a few of times over the years and tasted fairly scour if i remember correctly.......Still it is a decent saving if that's your game

Tescos have some of the frozen dinners for 1.50 too, picked up lasagne,hot pot, chicken curry and spag bol

Tesco seem to have the WW foods all at half price at the moment.

Kay put it this way you get get a WW lasagna for about 8 points and you can get the normal tv meal one for 20 points.


Dunno why this got into a debate on the merits of WW meals but basically for the first month I used the meals. It meant I could have 3 square meals that were exactly the right points. No guess work in how much everything was. That got me back into a routine of eating and now I just cook my own meals. At the time it was very handy for me to use these.

An the desserts... well damnit they taste reallllllly good and are only 4 points. Considering the points for a chocolate cake is like 20/30 then these are excellent.

An the WW meals are on sale in most places but I have never seen the deserts for sale.

WW would never encourage people to live off their ready meals but its handy to have one or two in the freezer for those nights when you are too busy to make a proper meal from scratch. Many a time I have been thankful of the meals being on standby - stopped me ringing for a takeaway or just eating loads of toast

Yeah exactly, when you are just to tired you can go for the quick stuff which is usually way over the points. An I do have to say I was surprised by WW when ringing them they did say you really do not have to use our stuff, just find foods you like and make weekly plans.

Defeating the purpose may be a better term.......although BOGOF would probably be worse.......

How is it an oxymoron? I am not going to eat them all in one go... They go in the freezer. Means I saved €30 for the next 2-3 months...

lmao had one when I got home XD I love how you can have them partially frozen so they like a icecream but with a gooey chocolate centre. Or leave to defrost and they are a mousse :P

be careful with the WW desserts, some of them are just tiny servings and have the same content per 100g as similar non-WW items, or some just have all the fat replaced with sugar

If you keep them in the freezer for 4-6 months you'll have saved €60.

Loads of WW stuff in Aldi atm aswell, hot chocolate, chocolate wafer bars, fruit bars, mallow bars, nachos, some other stuff.

Weight Watchers Food and other weight loss related stuff reduced everywhere as happens every January. They bombard us with loads of sweets/crisps/pop/booze/fatty food in November and December and then its all weight loss stuff in January :mad::mad:

I can guarantee you, you lost your weight because of YOUR hard work, not weight watchers food.

Anyway, if you buy these horrible things its a great saving.

Err hun I know that. Weight watchers even say don't use their stuff.
It simply used the foods to control my portions and points for the first month. Now I cook all my meals with fresh produce and meat from my local butchers. However dude seriously their weight watchers brownies are soooooooooo nice. I mean REALLLLY nice.
