    hi Everyone,
I'm going to las Vegas this year end of November/Early december. I have been looking around at hotels/Flights/package holidays. I was wondering when would be the best time to book? I was wondering on average how much would you expect to pay for 7 nights flights & accomdation. Just want to keep an eye out and if i see a good deal worth booking. Thanks

Hi Elaine I'd recommend booking the flights and hotel seperately.

Hotels will be cheap around then especially midweek.

If you have a look at the las vegas forum on trip advisor you will see
    people posting up hotel specials.

You will have to wait till late summer tho before hotels start doing deals for november.

Remember that the US Thanksgiving Holiday is the last thursday of November. People usually get the friday off as well and its also the day the Christmas Sales start. Its pretty common for people to also take the mon, tues and weds off as well.

Traditionally it is the biggest travel time of the year surpassing even christmas.

SO I would seriously advise against travelling in the US for that week, its famous for travel delays and chaos. And I'd imagine the prices would be sky high then too.

Book flights and hotel together on Expedia or ebookers. You should get a nice hotel and flights for week for around 700 ( assuming two sharing a room).

900 + will get you a good 5 star for the week.

Just booked for March just flights from Dublin so far as I am meeting up with people from California who go often, and have a contact at one of the hotels for cheaper rates.

Flights then were £440, so good deal for that considering that it includes St Patricks weekend

Do you need a single room or share with a person?

What airport do you want to fly out of?

I will have a look later if I have a chance.

Its the last thursday. So this year its on the 28th. Which means from about the 22nd to the 2nd will be heavy. But much worse from the 27th to 1st.

On the other hand if you're flying in on a direct flight it wouldnt be too bad. Changing planes in a US airport could be intense though. And if you fly out after about the 2nd you'd be fine too.

Had a look on ebookers and expedia and both come in pretty much the same e.g. December 2nd to 9th

Search link wont post! Just do a search on ebooker for flight and hotel, dub to las, 2nd to 9th!

Best value above I would say is the Bellagio at 950 per head, Cheapest is circus circus at 700 per head

Using skyscanner.ie most flights are around 600 per head return. Taking the same dates used above december 2-9th best flight comes in at 605 each with us airways (same flight as booking with ebookers). Great flight actually as there is a nice layover, short enough but long enough!

Using booking.com for accomadation on those dates gives alot of options. You could go really cheap and get a place for 250 euros for the entire week e.g. the fiesta henderson casino hotel is 135 euro + some sneaky charges which brings it up to around 250....for the week. Dont let the price put you off! Its not a bad hotel, as good and better than any average hotel in ireland! The problem is location! you are away from the strip with any of these hotels and will end up spending a fortune on taxis etc!!

Cheap hotels on the strip are few and far between. Hooters hotel is cheap enough those dates and just off the strip. If booking any of the higher end hotels then the price is the same as booking them together using ebooker or more expensive.

Often there are deals direct from the hotel, flash sales etc but these as usually much closer to the date so hard to plan flights for!

    Too many options.

My advice is book some place nice on the strip! Would recommend Mgm signature suites! Every room is a suite so you can have breakfast in the room! Really nice!

I am booked into the Aria in June for 8 nights! Cant ****ing wait!

    Great info there!

I am planning on using the 20 dollar trick (gonna make it a 50$). Might get bumped up!

that link was very good citytillidie thank you. I have been keeping an eye out on flights using the usual website ebookers, skyscanner, american holidays etc. i was looking at hoteles last week in november and the first week in december and december is more expensive. i think this might be because there is rodeo finals on. Thanks everyone for your help

    Hi Elaine,

I think your safe enough to start booking now, if you know dates.

ebookers.ie has some good prices at the moment.

Flight and accommodation, from Mon 25 November to Monday 2nd December, starts at about 730 each for the Excalibur hotel. You can get the 5 star Aria hotel on the Strip for 870 each.

They are very good prices, considering you will be there for Thanksgiving, which is an unbelievable experience in itself. The place will be buzzing and then you have the sales on Black Friday, which would almost be worth the trip alone.

Having been there a few times and stayed in different hotels, I found the hotel doesn't really matter a whole load, once it is central and situated on the Strip. I have stayed in the Palazzo, a luxury 5 star, but in the end, we only ended up being in the rooms to sleep so it didn't matter that there were 4 tvs etc.

A trip to the Grand Canyon is also a must.

An important point also if you stay in one of the high end hotels which are often not that much more expensive is that everything in the hotel costs more also. No cheaper eating options, table min bets higher, drink prices higher etc.

True, but again if they're on the strip then it's just a case of nipping next door. Granted, next door is likely a five minute walk but you're not tied to the resort that you're staying in.

Next door is usually a 15 min walk lol! Everything in Vegas looks close but is actually miles away.

    Both our points are valid!

Are you flying directly to Vegas or stopping to meet with friends first? Also, do you have a Visa, MC, or AMEX?

If so, look into Name Your Price on Priceline. I am not sure if you still have to have an American internet provider or not, but I would check to see if they allow for international folks to bid.

You can save big. I was able to get a 4.5 star two room suite for $50 a night. I flew roundtrip from Chicago to Seattle for $250. I rented a mid-size vehicle for $10 a day. These were all during the after Thanksgiving before Christmas or after New Years travel lull.

I'm going to be contrary and recommend Thanksgiving weekend as the best for going to Vegas. Conventions are what dictate the prices in the Strip hotels, and there are fewer held on the holiday weekend. it's just another weekend in Vegas, with the added bonus of the Black Friday shopping thrown in.
