Dongle and router combo's

    Hi All,

    Currently have the Meteor E3131 dongle which is proving problematic to find a suitable router for. I am therefore on the lookout to replace this with a new dongle and router.

    Anybody offer any good recommendations.

    Currently get a steady connection with dongle positioned outside running to laptop on USB extension cable, although not ideal so looking to set up a wifi router.

    Would a separate dongle to router be the best option or using the likes of the B683 with external antenna be better.

    You'd need to check their compatibility list but I'm currently using the Dovado 'Tiny' router with a Huawei E122 fob and it's superb. Has most of the features of a bigger router and has been rock solid, generally. Good things come in small packages, sometimes.

    I have ordered a TP-Link MR 3420 V2 as it is compatible with a range of dongles and I have a small hope that it may work with the e3131. If not I will just get a new dongle, something like an e372. At least with these two the should be future proof for a while
