I've heard reports that there is quite a glare from the screen on the iPad. Is this true? Does anyone here use it for reading books? If so, how do you find it?

The iPad isn't an eReader and will strain your eyes after a time. Also, there will be glare in certain lights which you won't get on a device designed to read books.

I find it fine for reading, but forget it in bright light. Just back from the sun, and the Kindle is great in the sun, but you can't see the iPad
