hi guys im looking for the most economical way to seperate my boundary area from next door..nothing between us at present the problem is the front of the site is fine as regards ground level but as you go back towards rear of site the ground slopes fairly strongly.. i put in tonnes of filling when building and now my side of what will be the boundary is much higher than next door as he never bothered filling up his ground. Block wall would be perfect except for the height i would have to go down to get a foundation and then the cost involved to bring this up to proper level from my side.. would greatly appreciate some ideas as ill have to do something fairly soon before the missus walks out over next doors gawking in all the time.... cheers in advance

First off, if you built up your back by more than 1m higher than your neighbour (assuming both your back gardens started off at the same level) you will need planning permission for it.

If it's not higher than 1m and you just want to put an exempted development 2m high wall in place, the 2m height is taken from the lower garden level.
