Two clubs in town: Blazers and The Spiral Tree. Blazers tends to attract a teens/early 20s-type crowd.

As for pubs... Valentine's or MB Coy's are your best bets on a Saturday night. For a good pint of Guinness, try The Tally Ho, Lyons or Clarke's.

Foodwise, Viewmount House is probably a cut above anything else in the entire Midlands, but evening meals tend to be very pricey. Good value on early bird and Sunday lunch menus, though. The Aubergine is also good, as is The Black Olive (The Aubergine doesn't take bookings but has a nice waiting area with armchairs and a bar - which I think now has a selection of craft beers). There are a few decent Chinese restaurants, such as Chan and The Chinese Gourmet, and the Indian restaurant, Nayab, is fab. If you want to venture a little further for food, Tarmonbarry is only a 10 minute drive away and has The Purple Onion (lovely, lovely food!) and Keenans.

The nightlife isn't great in town to be honest. Like pp's have said there's only a few spots to go to! Are you relocating to Lford town? Athlone is much better to go out in.

I would suggest Sligo or Carrick than Longford to go out in.
