    Anyone watching the Dakar?

Each year Robbie Gordon says he is going to win it...but then fupps up.
is it just cause he is american or is the hummer just not up to it?

    Just luck.
He pushes hard and the Hummer certainly has the pace but racing is fickle.

It was a Race2Recovery truck and a local taxi, head on with the taxi and the truck. The second taxi rolled a number of times trying to avoid the accident.

Just got that on eurosport...race2recovery are down to 2 cars now. They are going to continue in memory of those that died.

    Both, I think.

As a driver IMHO he's not up on the same level as the front runners, but because he wants to win so badly he's racing extra hard, taking chances and subjecting the Hummer to conditions it just can't cope with.

    Don't think so.
Stage 1 he was taking it easy over the dunes and got stuck because he wasn't going hard enough, stage 5 he went over a very steep dune and just nosed in and rolled over.
It could be lack of skill but I think its just racing.
Experience might play a part too but even top notch competitors get bad luck too, look at Carlos Sainz.
Nasser Al-Attiyah is flying on the same equipment but racing has a big element of luck.
The bikes are more interesting for me, lots of young guns showing that they have the pace for the event and with HRC rejoining the Dakar its great to see.

Ah I misread your post - thought you meant NAA has the same car as Gordon.:o

Having re-read it I understand what you tried to say now.:)
