I read this up on the Revenue site and it was clear as mud.

All I want to know is how much I can claim for, I paid out €3,000 last year and have receipts. I'm a PAYE worker on 20%.

It's pretty straightforward. If all the 3000 euro are qualifying expenses and you have received no refunds under an insurance policy then its all allowed at 20%. That's 600 euro. In order to receive the 600 you will need to have paid at least 600 in paye last year.

    Thank you :)

I wasn't sure if there was a limit to the amount I could claim. Sounds too good to be true. I'm a taxation dullard :D
