Is this a regular side effect of Codeine?

    I was given a weeks worth of Solpadol (Codeine 30mg & Paracetamol 500mg) after I had my tonsils out.

    I took two of these tablets because I was in so much pain. It really helped the pain but I noticed some side effects.

    .Very itchy
    .I guess only describe as a sort of euphoric feeling
    .And little nausea
    .Very sleepy

    I had taken Codeine before in the likes of N+ & Solpedine but never noticed any of these effects. Although I know there much lower doses of Codeine in them.

    Has anybody else whose taken Codeine at larger doses noticed these effects?
