    Hi guys,

This question has probably been asked a million times but I'd appreciate some help.

I earn eur549 gross per week.
My wife is unemployed and not receiving any benefits ( dont think she can anyway)

We have one child so we get eur 130 per month from childrens alllowance.

    That is all our income.
We don't own a house or have any other assets or income.

can anyone tell me what my take home pay should be ? At the moment I am paying nearly eur100 on tax....just want to be sure if it's right or not.

    Thanks.

    http://www.deloitte.ie/tc/

Put in your yearly details there, then divide the results by 52 for tax that you should be paying as it's a yearly total.

It says you should have take home of €487 a week, unless you've a child at school in which case it goes up.

Don't know why it goes up in that instance though.

The Deloitte calculator doesn't seem to grant the 'stay at home carer's tax credit' which you are probably entitled to if your spouse minds your child.

Including that credit, you should be netting €501.71 per week (you can download my spreadsheet calculator- see the link in my signature below if you're logged in or it's also available in the 'About me' section of my profile). The spreadsheet only works in Excel 2007 or greater and you need to allow macros to run for it to work properly.

If you are paying nearly €100 tax on a gross income of €549 , then you need to do a full assessment to include :
    • Home Carer Tax Credit
    • FIS ( Family Income Supplement )
