Hi, currently researching replacement boiler (oil)
Will also look into getting controls (thermo stats) installed at the same time.

One statement on the seai site says "Can you heat your domestic hot water without switching on your radiators or an electric immersion heater?"

Can someone explain how that is achieved? would it involve plumbing extra pipes from the boiler outside to the immersion upstairs?

Maybe i'm just missing the obvious:confused:

Yes its achieved using electrical controls and separating the the pipe work in to distinct zones ie Upstairs radiators,Downstairs radiators,Hot water. It may or may not require additional pipe work depending on how your house is plumbed

    The design of it.

All fittings and vents on ready with 2 compression fittings.

Just seem much better thought out.

Only flaw I can find is that the fittings are metric on it

You only need to change the nuts & olives to Irish. Nearly all boilers including gas boilers have metric fittings as they are geared for the larger UK market.
