Help Catch the Culprits of Disgusting Animal Cruelty

This website has enormous potential for getting information across to the masses, and today I would like you all to help in catching some disgusting individuals.

On the 4th of January, a lurcher puppy was found wedged between two walls in Port Laoise. The dog had been stabbed a number of times and had its throat slashed from one ear to the other. When animal rescue found the dog the blood had been completely dried in. Horribly, the dog had been left there to die for anywhere from 24-48 hours.

Gardai are trying to catch these very dangerous individuals and have set an award of 1000euros for information leading directly to their arrest. I don't think I have to spell out why the perpetrator(s) of this act must be caught, not only is it despicable in itself, its also worringly the act of someone who can potentially go on to harm humans.

What I am asking from the posters at boards.ie is to please share, tweet whatever the poster put out by the guards which I have attached.

The more people who know the more chance of the individuals getting caught.

Thank you and MODS I really hope you don't close or merge this thread :)

image attached. WARNING: IMAGE CONTAINS INJURIES TO PUPPY.

Heavens! The puppy survived? That is incredible, given its injuries. I hope the savages are caught.

You might want to put a warning on the image and let people know it's of a mutilated dog.

Edit: they might also want to say where the crime happened. That image has more information about how to donate to an animal shelter than it does about any crime committed.

yeah, the gardai need to look at criminals in laois who have previous convictions for animal cruelty.....I know of one in particular that needs to be roped in. This kind of savage attack would be his hallmark, as was before and was prosecuted for.

This really upsets me especially as I have a rescue Lurcher. I really hope they catch the horrors who did this.
I concur that the attachment should have a warning as its deeply upsetting.

If thats the case please ring the Gardai number on the poster. Any information may be useful. That individual may have been overlooked by the guards for whatever reason.

A housing estate near Port Laoise is all the info given but you're right there should be more info.

However the donation goes directly to the puppy's vet costs.

It's kind of sad that this poster isn't getting anywhere near the publicity that something as trivial as the KPMG video did.

The Rescue that saved Taylor the puppy has an FB page here https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cara-Rescue-Dogs/308687865835850
with details of how to donate to Taylor's vet bills and regular updates.

    He is doing very well.

When I read the OP, I couldn't put this incident into words. I felt very sad. :(

This comment from the quoted article puts this into words nicely for me.
Sometimes I shudder at the depths people sink to, in their treatment of others more vulnerable than them. Disgusting scum bags.

I know how you feel - but (said she trying not to give up on the human race) Cara Rescue posted on their FB about a 14 year old girl named Ella who turned up at the vets with 44 euro in coins she had fundraised to help pay Taylor's vet bills.

    Fcukin scumbags
What joy do you get from doing anything like this to a dog
    Especially a puppy
All they wanna do is mess and play with you
I've no time for **** like that and certainly would've have any hesitation on hittin them a few slaps for it

First saw this on Facebook when the dog was taken in by the animal rescue and even though updates on Facebook are saying he's getting a lot better, I feel like crying every time I think about it.

How anybody could treat another living being like this is beyond me. Clearly they have something seriously wrong with them and for the good of society, I hope they are caught and locked up because they are not fit to be part of civilised society.
If they're capable of doing that to a defenceless animal, a puppy, what would they do to another person? It's barbaric.

He seems to be doing well, responding to treatment and has started taking his medication orally and as far as I read, is not in need of pain meds anymore.
There's a picture of him on Facebook tonight kissing his vet nurse, little cutie.

Hopefully that dog will find a fantastic family and new home where he will be treated with love and kindness for the rest of his doggy years.
And hopefully the hands fall off whoever done it and may they die roaring.

That story is horrific beyond belief.

I despair for the scum that did this, they are unworthy of human DNA:(
They should be immediately sterilised upon capture to prevent them breeding.
