Hi All, I've been eyeing up this lens and I just wanted to see if anyone out there has used it and what your thoughts were on it. I've read the reviews on it and all that but I'd love to see a real-world perspective on it if possible?

I got it a few months ago, great bang for your buck and from the reviews I read and watched beforehand the better option between it and the other Canon lens in the class, the 70-300mm.

Great range and good as a cheap (ok, DSLR land cheap) and effective way to open up your camera's range. I've tried it at a few matches from the stands and although it's not the fastest lens in the world if you can anticipate a subject's movements properly you can still get plenty of great shots.

It's probably stating the obvious but the sharpness and colour reproduction blows the kit lens out of the water and only makes me want to replace that lens all the more. I'm very happy with it.

This is my favourite lens. I use it more than my 70-200 f2.8. It has good optics for the price. I use it at G.A.A. matchs and for some bird shots and am really pleased with it. Its very light so easy to carry around

It does however feel a little plasticy in your hands. But it makes up for it performance wise. It would be a great addition to your kit.
