Are Movement Sensors Enough?

    Hi,

I am looking to install an alarm in my house - my query is whether it is enough to just have some movement sensors internally plus sensors on the front door and back door?

I know some alarm systems have sensors drilled into the windows but we are planning to replace the windows we currently have in the near future and would prefer not to be drilling into the new windows if possible.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

The thief will have to be inside the house before it sets off .
the best option is to screw the sensors on to the window . motions are mainly used to verify alarms and you won't be able to set the system at night as you will trip the motions . the better option would be to place sensors on all accessible doors and windows and have 2-3 PIRs . Set the PIRs up so that they do not come on at nighttime. If screwing the sensors isn't an option then you could use PIRs in the kitchen , sitting room & hall that come on for night set and full set but have the hall set to entry exit so you have time to turn the system off or have it excluded from night set

    Never a good option....
Always cover the perimeter first. Sensors & contacts on all accessible windows backed up by 2 PiRs.

A trap pack is the cheaper option but offers less protection. It is better than nothing but protecting windows and doors is the best system to have installed.
